UMass Student Health Plan Coverage for Impacted Wisdom Teeth
When having oral surgery, make sure to provide the dentist with your student health plan card, in addition to your dental plan information. Wellfleet may provide a limited benefit for wisdom teeth extraction if the wisdom teeth are impacted. Be prepared: Always Ask for a Pre-treatment Estimate
It is a good practice to ask for a pre-treatment estimate. Your dentist or specialist will send Ameritas a plan for your care and request an estimate of benefits. The estimate helps you prepare for the cost of dental services. We recommend that you request a pre-treatment estimate for services in excess of $300. You and your dentist will receive a benefit estimate for most procedures while you are still in the office. Actual payments may vary depending upon plan maximums, deductibles, frequency limits and other conditions at time of payment.
